a concept album is the best way to get back to being agan. -amplification of movements- (2017) is the first full-length album of giuseppe carlini, already a member of plaster with gianclaudio h. moniri (kaeba). a work inspired by and dedicated to the natural reserve of vico lake, in italy. during a four-year period, from 2012 to 2016, the artist focused on the wildlife of the area in the province of viterbo, considering it both as an inspiring muse and an object of study. -amplification of movements- was developed little by little, in the wake of an -onion- architecture and layered in six songs which inevitably reference the nature of the site. the parallels between the place and the music are also to be found in search of a sound, which is balanced between field recordings and self production.

anno stamm is the revered 4/4 branch name of berlin’s lars stoewe. as anstam he has been at the forefront of dark beat science, touring extensively with the likes of moderat and thom yorke’s atoms for peace and has appeared at festivals ranging from mutek and ctm to sonar and dimensions. ‘annothek’ is his second ep for macro. the three tracks build on the same set of sound sources and offer three different views at their glowing core. elastic basslines pierce through a bed of sweet and warm chords, surrounded by sizzling noise percussion. definitely on the more introspective side, the three cuts offer a special emotional depth while maintaining a bit more than just enough oomph to get the action going. late night and early morning are the possible settings. it’s a declaration of tender love that comes with a gentle push towards the closest darkroom.

sonic groove records presents a new masterpiece entitled “realism” by artist rhys fulber, his career as a waveform alchemist and sonic innovator began with the band front line assembly, a project he helped both instigate and shared an imaginative vision with fellow pioneer bill leeb who is otherwise known for his work with early skinny puppy. the sound of front line assembly assisted in the evolution and definition of the industrial/ebm genre. rhys fulber has continued as an unprecedented producer with his contributions to other noteworthy defining procedures such as noise unit and delerium and forging forward in the contemporary realm inside youth code and the more accessible conjure one project.

the gooiland elektro compilation “unruhe” is a showcase of contemporary acid techno… spacey and trippy in the hands of zarkoff and distorted and freaked out by roberto auser… but also rather industrial when done by foql or pushed to the extreme by the untitled… this is acid as it should sound… edgy and daring tracks for illuminated heads instead of easy and boring sounds suitable for the masses… and as with all gooiland elektro releases this one is equally intense on the dance floor as with headphone playback.
